About Me
Welcome to my digital teaching portfolio. I am a Lecturer at the University of Miami School of Communication and a Lecturer in the University of Florida’s Department of Public Relations within the College of Journalism and Communications. I also teach at the Nicholson School of Communication and Media at the University of Central Florida and the University of North Florida School of Communication.
I hold a Master of Mass Communication with a specialization in Public Relations from the University of Florida. My academic background also includes a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Psychology, a Master of Education, and an Educational Specialist degree, equipping me with a multidisciplinary approach to communication, teaching, and student development.
My work sits at the intersection of strategic communication, industry practice, and experiential learning, with a focus on preparing students to succeed in today’s evolving media and communication landscape.

Teaching Experience
I bring over 16 years of university teaching experience, specializing in strategic communication and public relations education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I currently lead courses in Public Relations Campaigns (Capstone), Public Relations Writing, Strategic Communication, and Integrated Campaigns.
My teaching is grounded in an industry-driven approach, where students work on real-world campaigns, develop client-ready materials, and build portfolio-quality work that reflects current professional standards in public relations, digital media, and brand strategy.
With a focus on both strategy and execution, I equip students with the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and transition confidently into competitive roles across public relations, advertising, and marketing.

PR Business Owner and Industry Experience
As the Founder of Comuníq PR and Marketing, I lead a boutique public relations consultancy serving mission-driven organizations across the arts, education, nonprofit, and lifestyle sectors. My work focuses on public relations strategy, digital brand development, and integrated communications.
Previously, as a Project Manager and Consultant at Carnegie Higher Education Marketing and National Program Manager at Shorelight Education, I led global communications, institutional branding initiatives, and public relations campaigns for universities across the United States, supporting enrollment growth and brand positioning.
I bring this industry experience directly into the classroom, where students engage in real-world campaigns, develop media-ready writing, and produce portfolio-quality work that leads to internships and full-time roles in public relations, advertising, and corporate communication.
